Century: Golem edition — worth the extra cash over Spice Road

Local shop has Golem on clearance-ish and vanilla Spice Road sitting next to it like siblings who hate each other.

I know it's basically the same game in a fancy coat, but I'm weak for pretty production and my brain says 'investment' when it means 'plastic crack.'

If you own both, which actually hits the table more? I'm worried the novelty wears off and I'm left with a giant box that mocks me.

Also planning to eventually get Eastern Wonders if I like the system — does starting with Golem paint me into a corner for mixing later?

Honest opinions only, my wallet is listening and it's scared.

Golem is prettier. mechanics same enough that id buy whichever is cheaper unless youre a display person
