We Finally Played Twilight Imperium: Fourth Edition — 11 Hours Later...

We did it. Six players. Started at 9 AM. Pizza at noon. Chinese food at 5 PM. Finished at 8 PM.

Twilight Imperium: Fourth Edition lived up to every ounce of hype. The diplomacy was REAL. We had genuine betrayals, desperate alliances, and one player who refused to attack anyone and somehow came in second.

High point: Turn 6, my buddy traded me his support for the throne in exchange for a ceasefire. Turn 7, he immediately invaded my home system. The table ERUPTED. Best gaming moment of my life.

Low point: Setup took 90 minutes. We need a dedicated table.

TI4 sessions are basically a holiday. You don't play it — you block out the day for it. Welcome to the club.

The betrayal story is classic TI. That game creates stories you'll tell for years. Nothing else in the hobby does that at the same scale.

The pacifist coming in second is so on-brand for TI. Turtle strategies are surprisingly viable if the table ignores you.

I love hearing these stories. I'll never play it (I can barely commit to a 2-hour game) but I live vicariously through you all.

90 minute setup is criminal. Get the game trayz insert. Our setup is down to 25 minutes now.
