Patchwork: button math paralysis is eating my soul

My partner and I love Patchwork but our games have started taking longer than Terraforming Mars because she wants to trace every future button income like she's doing taxes.

I don't want to be the jerk rushing her — I'm slower in heavier games — but Patchwork hits different when it's 45 minutes of silence and squinting.

Is there a clean house rule that keeps it snappy without wrecking fairness? We tried playing open information on the time track only and it helped a little.

Also side question: do you count opponent holes mentally or is that considered scouting in your relationship, lol.

Use a sand timer for piece selection if you must. harsh but fixes AP

Patchwork rewards quick intuition. if you calc every line you lose the fun AND the game sometimes
