Session Report: Gloomhaven — We Almost Quit at Scenario 7

Our Gloomhaven campaign has been incredible but Scenario 7 almost broke us. We failed it three times. THREE TIMES.

The combination of monster spawns and the narrow corridor layout felt genuinely unfair. We were about to house-rule it when our Brute player suggested a completely different approach — kiting enemies through the first room instead of pushing forward.

We beat it on the fourth attempt with 2 HP left on our healer. Absolutely electric. This game goes from miserable to euphoric in the span of a single turn.

Scenario 7 is a notorious wall. The key insight you found — controlling enemy movement instead of racing — is basically the skill that separates the first 10 scenarios from the rest of the campaign.

I play Gloomhaven solo controlling 2 characters and Scenario 7 took me FIVE attempts. Don't feel bad.

Wait until Scenario 14. You'll experience this same despair-to-triumph cycle but amplified by 10x.
